Lucy Hale just suggested she was sexually assaulted.
The Pretty Little Liars star just posted a cryptic message on her social media channels this Thursday, speaking out about her experience and heartbreak.
“I never understood sexual assault until tonight,” wrote the 28-year-old star. “I always sympathized, but never truly felt the paint of it until right now.”
While Hale deleted her message just minutes after sharing it with her fans, she momentarily reposted it, writing: “this needs to be heard.”
“My dignity and pride was broken,” she continued in her initial statement.
“I am completely at a loss for words. I feel for anyone that has felt this pain that I feel right now. But I promise. I will not let a moment go by that I don’t try to make a difference.”
Hale’s sexual assault message comes after hundreds of celebrities and thousands of women worldwide have shared their horrific experiences with harassment over social media.
A-listers, athletes and individuals continue to voice their thoughts and support for the “Time’s Up” and “Me Too” movements, as brave new voices speak out.
It is still unclear what instance Lucy Hale was referring to when she shared her shocking sexual assault message.
