Lady Gaga fans were obviously upset when the singer cancelled her “Born This Way” Tour earlier this year, but she’s now revealing why exactly the cancellation had to happen so suddenly. Fans should be thankful to know that had Gaga not pulled out of her tour commitments when she did, she could’ve been out of commission for more than a year because her hip injury was much more severe than we originally thought!
In a new interview, the singer said that her surgery fixed more than just some torn cartilage, and in fact, her hip was actually broken. Gaga’s doctors reportedly told her that if she continued on with the tour, she might need a full hip replacement, which would’ve kept her off her feet for even longer.
Less than six months after the surgery, though, Gaga is now back on her feet and ready to share new music. Her new single “Applause” will be released in August, and she’ll deliver the song’s first live performance on August 25 at the MTV Video Music Awards.
