The first trailer for Kelly Clarkson’s daytime talk show is here. In it, she covers Cardi B’s iconic hit “I Like It,” dances with Terry Crews, and teases even more celebrity guests. Watch the trailer for The Kelly Clarkson Show above!
Kelly, 36, is set to hit airwaves in the fall, but the trailer gives a preview of what’s to come.
“I love talking, it’s no secret. If it is, you’ve never seen me anywhere,” Kelly jokes in the footage. “I’d love to see all kinds of guests on the show. All different kinds of walks of life, backgrounds, celebrities, non- celebrities.”
She promises lots of celebrities — like Josh Groban, Chrissy Metz and Chloe Grace Moretz. But Kelly’s show will also feature interviews with regular people, shining a spotlight on important issues. In the footage, she even makes a trip to a local rescue to help families suffering in poverty.
The American Idol winner also explained that hosting a talk show isn’t too different from being on The Voice. Kelly served as a judge on that show for two seasons, and both times a member of her team won the competition.
The new talk show isn’t completely without drama, though. Steve Harvey recently opened up about how NBC kicked him to the curb to make room for Kelly.
“I thought it would’ve been nice of them to come to me — as being the only dude that’s survived [in daytime TV] for them for seven years — and say, ‘Steve, we’re thinking about doing this,’” he said. “But no, they just made an announcement. So when you do that, I gotta make announcements, too.” It seemed he was threatening to take his long-running show somewhere else.
