Jersey Shore fans were shocked to learn that Jenni ‘JWOWW’ Farley filed for divorce from husband Roger Mathews earlier this month. Now, the father-of-two is speaking out about the devastating split, and he wants fans to know he’s not letting his wife go just yet! Watch the video above to see what he had to say.
Roger, 43, started off the video he posted to Instagram pretty angry. He called concerned fans “blood thirsty bastards that have to know what’s going on,” before thanking the people who are genuinely worried. He went on to reveal the reason why they’re getting divorced.
“My wife filed for divorce, it’s true,” he admited, looking at the camera. “I don’t blame her. There’s no cheating or any dumb s— or any juicy details. She just grew tired of the repetitive pattern that we fell into… and [it was] not a good one.”
“Here’s what’s also true: I’m not done fighting,” he said, stronger. “I’m gonna win my wife back. I’m gonna win her affection back. I’m gonna win her love back. I have no intentions of being a single dad.”
And though Jenni, 32, filed the papers already, he revealed they’re still working on their issues. “We’re in counseling so there is hope,” he said.
“It ain’t over till the fat lady sings,” he finished the video.
In the caption he was more poetic, writing, “Praying for a better tomorrow. Sorry world, I’m taking a day off from praying for you today and I’m just gonna pray for my family. Hope springs eternal.”
Jenni and Roger dated for years before finally tying the knot in 2015. They have 2 children, Meilani, 4, and Greyson, 2. Her son has been dealing with developmental delays, and the Jersey Shore Family Vacation star told Radaronline.com exclusively about the toll that struggle has taken on her marriage.
The reality star filed for divorce earlier this month. “The Plaintiff and the Defendant have irreconcilable differences which have caused the breakdown of the marriage for a period of at least six months which make it appear that the marriage should be dissolved and that there is no prospect of reconciliation,” her complaint said.
