Paula Deen released taped video statements apologizing for her use of the “N word” in the past but then removed some of them from the Internet. After cancelling an appearance with Matt Lauer on the Today show on Friday, the 66-year-old Southerner begged for forgiveness. “I want to apologize to everybody for the wrong that I’ve done,” she said in her video. “I want to learn and grow from this.”
The apology wasn’t enough for one of her employers though. “The Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month,” a network rep said Friday afternoon.
