She’s headlining a major concert with Jay Z on Saturday and preparing to release a new single and greatest hits album within the next few months…but that’s not even the most exciting news in Carrie Underwood‘s life! The singer announced earlier this month that she’s expecting her first child, and gushed about the pregnancy on The TODAY Show Friday.
“It’s still kind of weird, to be honest,” the American Idol winner said of being pregnant. “Sometimes I’ll be with my husband and I’m like, ‘I’m going to be a mom. You’re going to be a dad. Like, is this real life? But we’re really excited.”
Carrie isn’t showing much just yet, but the beginnings of a baby bump were slightly visible in the sit-down interview, for which she wore a tight black dress.
During the appearance, the 31-year-old announced that her new single will be called “Something in the Water,” and will appear as part of her greatest hits album, due out Dec. 9.
