After nine years of marriage, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are calling it quits.
“They’re already separated,” a close inside source tells OK!. “Ben wants the official statement to come out a few weeks before their 10th anniversary June 29—which he hopes will give enough time for the news to die down by the time he has to promote Batman v Superman and the other movies he has coming out next year.”
While the couple is now rumored to be separated, sources say their divorce has been a long time coming with rumored affairs, gambling, drinking problems, and Ben casting his crushes (such as Blake Lively and Emily Ratajowski) to flirt while filming. And from the sounds of it, Jennifer has had enough all of it, even though she helped bring him out of his gambling and drinking hole when they first got together. But he’s back to his card counting days in Vegas again.
“Often, when Ben and Jen have a problem, they just agree to ride it out and be miserable together until they can get some time apart,” says a longtime friend and colleague of the Danny Collins actress.
Earlier this year in April, Ben even skipped town on her birthday when things got rough. He disappeared for a Buddhist retreat in Canada and sported the “single man hand” (sans wedding band) while there.
Jen plans to fight for full custody of the their three kids: Violet (9), Seraphina (6) and Samuel (3). Even though Jennifer is smiling after she landed in Montreal on May 31, she refuses to talk to the paparazzi and waves their comments away like an annoying fly.
“This is a very difficult time for her,” Jennifer’s sister’s neighbor tells OK!. “Everyone needs to stop talking about it.
