Aaron Carter Reveals The Inspiration Behind 'Fools Gold' & Tells All On If He'll Work With Big Brother Nick!

Inside scoop!

Aaron Carter is back on the music scene — but don’t expect to hear a Carter family collaboration anytime soon.

The 28-year-old released the first single off his pending album LøVë, and revealed to Star exclusively how the track “Fools Gold” came together.

“Love should be everything to everyone in the world in my opinion, so Fools Gold is a story about love kind of in my life,” Aaron explained while confirming that his on-again-off again girlfriend Lee Marie Karis inspired it.

As Star previously reported, the “Aaron’s Party” singer blasted Lee on Twitter right before Christmas during a low-point in their relationship — and had fans concerned that he was on the verge of a mental breakdown.

“At that time it wasn’t [a great time relationship] and sometimes she’ll say, ‘oh, you didn’t write that about me!'” Aaron laughed. “And I’ll just be like, ‘okay.’ I don’t let it go. Who let’s things go in relationships? Let’s be real.”

“Is love ever a fairytale? No. It never is. It’s something you have to work at,” The House of Carters star continued as he hinted that the first five songs on his new album aren’t happy and upbeat — possibly detailing more of his struggles with Lee.

Also making music in the Carter family is big brother, Nick. The 36-year-old Backstreet Boy recently released a new single, “19 in 99” — and it looks like he won’t be revisiting “Oh, Aaron” anytime soon.

Aaron revealed that he won’t collaborate with Nick on LøVë!
