Things seem to be going better between Billy Ray Cyrus and his daughter Miley after she told the New York Times she’s been trying to be “compassionate” toward the 63-year-old. His son Trace, however, has been less forgiving.
On June 10, the 36-year-old, who Billy Ray adopted after his 1993 marriage to now ex-wife Tish Cyrus-Purcell, tore into the country singer in a vicious Instagram post that has since been deleted.
“This man is so hungry for fame it’s pathetic,” Trace wrote, accusing his dad of skipping a family funeral, among other things.
“Honestly embarrassed to ever have called you my idol.”

Earlier, he’d written an open letter after Billy Ray’s stumbling appearance at an inauguration celebration, calling his dad “not healthy” and singing the praises of his own sobriety.
Bizarrely, Billy Ray wasn’t the only target of Trace’s ire. A day after his rant against his father, the musician made serious accusations against his ex Brenda Song, who is now dating Macaulay Culkin, accusing her of faking pregnancies and cancer during their seven-year relationship.

A source tells Star the Home Alone star is furious at the attack. “He’s consulting with a top legal team and is determined to make sure Brenda feels safe.”
