Boyle rocketed to worldwide fame back in 2009 after her unforgettable audition on Britain’s Got Talent. Her stunning performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” became one of the most iconic TV moments of the decade and turned her into a global star almost overnight.
Asked to explain his selection, Chalamet explained: “She dreamt bigger than all of us, who wasn’t moved by that. It was like the advent of YouTube.”
It’s not the first time Boyle has resurfaced in pop culture conversations in recent years. Her audition has been voted among the most memorable Britain’s Got Talent moments and gets mentioned again and again as a defining television event.
