After fighting skin cancer for years, Teddi Mellencamp learns she has brain tumors.

The diagnosis was devastating. On Feb. 12, Teddi Mellencamp shared that she was hospitalized after suffering from debilitating headaches, and that doctors had found “multiple tumors” on her brain that they believed had been growing for at least six months. The 43-year-old-who has shared her battles with stage 2 melanoma-underwent emergency surgery to remove the larger tumors and will receive radiation for the remaining growths “in the near future.”

The mom to Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and 4-year-old Dove was “shocked” by the bad news, an insider tells Star. “But she’s dealing with it and staying strong for the sake of her family.” She and estranged husband Edwin Arroyave also seem to be putting family first.

Though the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum announced in November she planned to divorce Edwin after 13 years of marriage, the 47-yearold was by Teddi’s side during the ordeal and updating fans on her progress.

“Teddi and Edwin have put their divorce on pause, and Teddi’s moving back in with Edwin,”says the insider of the star, who had been bunking with castmate Kyle Richards. “They realize the best thing for them to do is to get through this together.” (Kyle, her pal Morgan Wade and Real Housewives of Orange County’s Tamra Judge all visited Teddi in the hospital.) Both Edwin and Teddi have been dogged by rumors of infidelity over the years, but have called a truce – for now. “Edwin has been her rock,” explains the insider.

“He’s been so supportive, and he’s taking care of the kids while she heals. Teddi knows she can count on him.”
