Teddi Mellencamp on Thursday revealed doctors found several more tumors in her body, after four tumors were removed from her brain last month amid her battle with melanoma.

Mellencamp, daughter of singer John Mellencamp and “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum, wrote on Instagram Thursday that new scans revealed more tumors in her brain and lungs.

“I have 3 more tumors in my brain and 2 tumors on my lungs. These are all a direct result of my melanoma,” said Mellencamp, 43.

“The doctors are hopeful that these additional mutations will be removed via immunotherapy. That begins Tuesday at 11AM,” she said. “I am feeling positive and excited — that I will beat these tumors.”

Over the past two years, Mellencamp has had more than a dozen pots of melanoma, one of the deadliest forms of skin cancer, removed. In early February, she revealed that debilitating headaches led doctors to discover several tumors in her brain. Four were surgically removed, but some smaller tumors could not be removed surgically.

After remaining hospitalized for more than two weeks, Mellencamp revealed on March 3 that she was returning home.

When caught early, melanoma spots can be removed from the skin, improving patients’ long-term prognosis. At later stages, however, the cancer cells can pass the blood-brain barrier, causing brain metastases, which significantly worsen prognosis.
