Taylor Swift Fans Think Her Gift to Teyana Taylor Was a Subtle Dig at Travis Kelce’s Ex, Kayla Nicole

Taylor Swift’s latest act of kindness may have come with a little shade.

Fans are convinced the pop superstar, 35, sent a pointed message to fiancé Travis Kelce’s ex, Kayla Nicole, when she gifted her new album, The Life of a Showgirl, to Teyana Taylor.

As Page Six reported on October 15, Teyana, 34 — who was previously married to Iman Shumpert, who once dated Kayla — thanked Taylor on Instagram Stories for sending her a gift box in honor of the “Bad Blood” singer’s new album.

“If you’re reading this, you’re someone who has shown love, someone I admire, and ultimately someone I’d want to celebrate with as we welcome The Life of a Showgirl into the world. I hope you like these gifts and record,” Taylor wrote in a handwritten note.

Fans quickly began to theorize that Taylor intended to throw shade towards Kayla by sending Teyana the gift.

“Ohh some people don’t get it yet but Taylor getting messy this era and I love it,” wrote one fan on X.

“She only sent it because Teyana talked mess about Kayla,” wrote another. “When folks that don’t like you link up.”

During an October 2024 sitdown on the Unapologetically Angel podcast, Kayla, 33, hinted that Shumpert — who married Teyana in 2016 before she filed for divorce in 2023 — once “dumped [her] via text.”

Later that month, Kayla added to the shade parade by dressing up as Teyana for Halloween — a move that reignited tension between the two women.

Now, fans are convinced Swift’s gift was anything but random, calling it the ultimate Showgirl move.
