Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager were acting more like frenemies as they discussed their weddings on Today With Jenna & Friendson the Wednesday, August 20, episode of the morning show.
When Hager, 43, brought up her May 10, 2008, wedding to Henry Hager in Texas Hill Country, Guthrie, 53, pointed out that she wasn’t a guest, but remembered being in Crawford, Texas, that weekend. (She has previously revealed she covered it as a reporter for NBC.)
Then it was Guthrie’s turn to describe her March 15, 2014, nuptials to Michael Feldman in Tucson, Arizona. “I also wasn’t invited,” Hager interrupted.
“And she claims we weren’t friends, but…” Hager, who has worked alongside her pal since Guthrie joined the Today team in 2011, added.
Guthrie responded, “No, we were friends, but it was a small wedding. We can’t do this again.”
“We’ve never done our beefs on the show,” Hager added.
If they both got married today, Guthrie continued, “we would be each other’s bridesmaids. We’re our kids’ godmothers,” to which Hager nodded, “100 percent.”

“So it’s done,” Guthrie said.
Despite Hager’s claim, the two have had this same argument on-air before.
Back in 2019, she gave Guthrie a hard time over the fact that she wasn’t invited because they were just “work friends.”
At the time, Guthrie insisted, “If I had known that you would have become one of my lifelong best friends, then I would have invited you.”
