For some stars, it could be a television moment they wish to forget.
But Rosie O’Donnell says she regularly revisits the on-air argument she had with Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View which ended their friendship forever.
“Listen, it’s known that me and Elisabeth Hasselbeck did not have a great ending to our friendship, so I would say that was the most problematic, perhaps,” O’Donnell, 64, told People in an interview published on Sunday, July 26. “But we did get along right up until the end, and then it blew up on national TV. Sometimes I watch that one.”
The argument happened in 2007 when O’Donnell and Hasselbeck, 49, had very different views over the Iraq War.
A video of the verbal altercation now has more than 5.8 million views on YouTube.

Last October, in an interview for the radio show Ricki‑Lee & Tim on Nova Fm in Australia, the League of Their Own star revealed how she believed the two stars were deliberately lined up for the clash to take place.
“Our producer [was] not an on-the-fly kind of guy,” O’Donnell explained. “He wasn’t like, Mr. Let’s-Go-To-a-Split-Screen.’ That was prepared. The whole thing, I think, was a setup.”
“I can’t watch the Streisand one,” the Harriet the Spy actress shared, referring to an appearance by Barbra Streisand in 1997. “But if the Elisabeth Hasselbeck fight is on, I’m like, ‘Let me try to remember what this felt like.’ You know?”
O’Donnell is also not ruling out a return to The View, but only as a guest this time around.
“Next season is the 30th anniversary and Ana Navarro mentioned that when I did her podcast recently. I think that I would, and just be a guest,” she said. “I do think that for me, it’s not the best use of my time or talent to be arguing about politics with people, just in general, as a form of entertainment. It’s not where I shine the most.”
