Rose McGowan Claims ‘Charmed’ Set Was Toxic as Execs Monitored Her Weight Every Season

Rose McGowan is revisiting her time on Charmed — and making unsettling claims about what went on behind the scenes.

In a new episode of the We Need to Talk podcast, the actress, 52, alleged that executives regularly scrutinized her body while she starred on the supernatural drama from 2001 to 2006.

According to McGowan, higher-ups would “circle around” her and “check my weight when I came back from season to season,” she said, adding that the men behaved as though they were “inspecting their product.”

McGowan described the environment on set as “nasty” and said that at the time, this behavior was treated as completely normal.

The Scream actress also recalled feeling trapped by the show’s corporate structure, claiming executives once warned her that leaving the series could lead to legal and financial consequences.

“And they were like, ‘If you go work at a pharmacy, we’ll sue you,” she explained. “No matter what job you get, we’ll take your wages for the rest of your life, and then we’ll go after your family.’”

McGowan has previously spoken about the toll Charmed took on her mental and physical health, revealing she suffered panic attacks and recurring illness during filming. And long after those traumatic days of being on TV and film sets, she suffered “years and years of suppressed anger,” she admitted.
