Q-tips, a brand synonymous with delicate precision for more than a century, is going big with Quge-tips, an oversized, nearly six-foot version of its iconic cotton swab, offering fans a playful twist on a household staple.
The humorous idea, the brand says, grew out of a real trend: people are using Q-tips for far more than beauty or baby care. From cleaning ceiling corners to dusting tall shelves to bold brushstrokes in large-scale art projects, alternative uses have become a meaningful share of total cotton-swab activity. Quge-tips takes that creativity and magnifies it.
“Our customers use Q-tips swabs in many different ways throughout their days — from beauty routines to home repairs — and many have even asked for bigger, longer, more task-specific cotton swabs,” said Olga Alpeter, Marketing Director, Q-tips, Elida Beauty. “Quge-tips is our lighthearted take on that feedback, celebrating creativity and reminding everyone that even a classic can still surprise you.”
The limited-edition giant swabs are available for $35 at qugetips.com while supplies last.
Built as an exaggerated homage to the original design, each Quge-tip measures nearly six feet from end to end, with an enlarged cotton tip and a reinforced stick engineered to mimic the familiar feel of the standard-sized swab. The company says the new product maintains the softness and quality that the “Q” has represented since 1923 — just on a dramatically larger scale.
For Q-tips, the launch marks a whimsical celebration of a brand that has accompanied everyday rituals since founder Leo Gerstenzangs creation of the first ready-to-use cotton swab.
Fans are encouraged to join in the fun by sharing how they “get in there” with the new supersized swabs, following @Qtips on social platforms for ideas and inspiration. The company has also released a Quge-tips infomercial on YouTube.
