Pure Mama Founder Brings Clean Skincare To Expecting Mothers

As International Womens Day approaches on March 8, entrepreneur Lara Henderson is reflecting on how her company, Pure Mama, has helped redefine pregnancy skincare.

The brand, which was born out of Hendersons own frustration during her first pregnancy in 2018, has since become a trusted name for over 60,000 women, including celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian Barker and Aimee Song.

Hendersons journey began when she struggled to find natural, high-quality skincare products tailored to the unique needs of pregnancy. Concerned by the overuse of synthetic ingredients, artificial fragrances, and conflicting information on skincare safety, she set out to create a clean, effective alternative.

“After tirelessly searching for the right products, I was not only overwhelmed with conflicting information on the safety of ingredients, but was shocked by the amount of synthetic ingredients and fragrances that were being used,” Henderson said. “This, coupled with an outdated market landscape that failed to acknowledge the complexity of motherhood, especially around the physical, psychological, and emotional changes women go through, led me to start change in the pregnancy skincare industry.”

Pure Mamas lotions, balms, and oils are made with 100% organic, sustainably sourced ingredients, ensuring that expecting mothers can care for their skin without exposure to harmful chemicals. The brand has gained widespread popularity and is now available at major retailers including Nordstrom and Erewhon.

“My intention is not only to support women on their journey with high-quality skincare they can trust, but to encourage women to take a moment to connect with their bodies throughout pregnancy,” Henderson says.

As more consumers seek clean, pregnancy-safe skincare, Pure Mama continues to lead the way in providing effective, natural solutions for mothers-to-be.
