If you only judged them on social media, you would think that Taylor Swift and Katy Perry spent Saturday nights braiding each other’s hair. The two were online BFFs for years before they turned on each other. "For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not,” Swift said of Perry in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. After stealing away her tour dancers, Swift said of Perry “Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.” The teen queen continued, “So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it."

The former queen of Hollywood bad girls, Paris Hilton, was once a lady boss to a then unknown Kim Kardashian. The two were like peas and carrots -- if peas paid carrots to clean its closet. But the power shifted when the Kardashian clan landed the hit reality show that made them famous.

They were introduced to American living rooms with the show “A Simple Life,” but the two were actually childhood friends. To this day, we don’t know what caused the BFFs to split, but Hilton released a statement that read: “It’s no big secret that Nicole and I are no longer friends. Nicole knows what she did, and that’s all I’m ever going to say about it.”

The early 2Ks were the golden days of Hollywood bad girls, and Nicole Richie, Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan appeared to be at the epicenter. Sometimes friends just drift apart. Other times, they just laugh when a friend make rude comments about their BFF -- ahem, Brody Jenner. When asked on Watch What Happens Live if she’s still friends with Lohan, Richie said, "Haven't spoken to her in a while."

After years of being inseparable BFFs, MaraNatha dropped Jelly like a bad habit. MaraNatha was overheard saying that it's Too Good for Jelly. The squad will be missed, but MaraNatha has moved on to bigger and better things.

Sometimes a fallout is more like a drift apart. That’s what appears to be the case with Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato. It’s unclear why the former Disney stars broke off their friendship. In response to a fan’s question on Boston’s 103.3 program, The TJ Show, Lovoto said about Cyrus, "It's life, and people change. I don't have anything in common with her anymore. I wish her the best.”

Demi Lovato outgrew another famous friend -- Selena Gomez. The two were buds through their Disney years, and lost touch as their respective careers took off. On an episode of What What Happens Live, Lovato said of Gomez, “I think it’s just one of those things where people change and grow apart.”

It was the reality TV screaming match that echoed in the hallways of high schools across the country. On the premier of season 3 of The Hills, Lauren Conrad went off on Heidi Montag, yelling: “You know what you did.” Now that’s one way to end a friendship.

Before Goop gave you a complex about your poor diet and Stranger Things freaked the hell out of you, Gwyneth Paltrow and Winona Ryder were the coolest girls in Hollywood -- and they were BFFs! While there have been no public statements on their crumbled friendships, reports claimed that Paltrow saw the script for Shakespeare in Love at Ryder’s house, and secretly audition for the role. Not only did she get it, the role won Paltrow and Oscar for lead actress. Ouch.
