Princess Eugenie ‘Leaning on’ Prince Harry Amid Her Parents’ Scandal: ‘Still Very Close’ (Exclusive)

Princess Eugenie is turning to cousins Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for support amid her parents Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson’s ongoing scandal

A source says the 35-year-old royal is ready to take the Duke, 41, and Duchess, 44, of Sussex on a previous offer of employment, much to the disgust of the royal family.

“It’s no secret she’s still very close with Harry and Meghan,” the source tells Star. “Everyone knows they’ve been trying to get her to work with them for ages. She’s always hesitated because she didn’t want to risk her position with the royals.”

However, Eugenie’s circumstances have since changed.

Her father, 66, was recently arrested in mid-February on suspicion of misconduct in public office and her mother, 66, has also come under fire after a 2011 email, in which she calls Jeffrey Epstein a “supreme friend,” surfaced last year.

Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing as has Fergie, who consistently maintains her innocence and has previously said via a representative that she was “taken in” by Epstein’s “lies.”

But as Star previously reported, the former Duke and Duchess of York were stripped of their royal titles and kicked out of Royal Lodge due to the ties to the late convicted pedophile, 66.

“Eugenie is in crisis mode,” the source says of the mother of two, who shares sons August, 5, and Ernest, 2, with husband Jack Brooksbank. “All she wants to do right now is protect her children from this hideous situation which does have her looking at her options.”

Prince William and Princess Kate “have been supportive,” adds the source. “But it’s clear there are very real limits [and] it doesn’t leave a great taste in her mouth to feel so easily expendable.”

Harry is “one of the few people” that Eugenie “feels she can confide in” though, says the source.

“Naturally, she’s leaning on [him] in a big way through all this,” reveals the source, noting that the prince is “proof that there is life beyond the institution, which she really needs at this moment.”
