Prince Harry Promises to Pitch Meghan Markle on Her Own UK Radio Show: ‘I Can Take This Back to Her’
Meghan Markle has been invited to host her own show on UK radio, and Prince Harry agreed to pitch the idea to his wife.
Harry, 42, who returned to the UK with Meghan, 45, and their children – Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5 – last month after six years away in the US, was interviewed by easy-listening station Magic Radio at the WellChild Awards in London on Monday, September 21.
Presenter Gaby Roslin, who hosted the awards, cheekily asked him during a playful interview, “Do you want a show on Magic? … Your wife could do a show on Magic. She loves Magic.”
Harry replied, “She does love Magic. That’s true.”
Roslin added, “What show would she like to do?”
The Duke of Sussex remarked, “We haven’t talked about it. I can take this back to her.” Roslin then shouted, “Christmas show! Christmas show!”
Markle spoke to Queer Eye star Tan France on her With Love, Meghan Netflix series last year about her love for the radio station and commented that “honestly, one of the things I miss the most about the UK is the radio station called Magic.”
In response, France, 43, told her, “Sorry to say this to you publicly, but that’s such a grandma station.”
Meghan laughed and said, “I’ll be that grandma.”
In the short interview with Roslin, Harry also suggested people in the UK have become “very insular.”
He said, “I think we have to do better as a society to be able to acknowledge and recognize those living around us more. I think we’ve become very insular. Obviously, I’ve been away for a while, so maybe I’m wrong. But certainly, when I hear these stories that these parents really need a day off, they really need a night off and to just go on a date.”
