Pop Star Claps Back at Critics After 60-Lb Weight Loss: ‘The World’s Getting Crazier and Meaner’

Meghan Trainor is not here for the negativity.

The “All About That Bass” singer, 31, sat down with Entertainment Tonight for an interview released Wednesday, November 12, and opened up about what life has been like since undergoing a major body transformation.

When asked how she deals with the negativity from online trolls following her 60-lb weight loss, the singer responded, “They’re getting louder. There’s more of them, dude. It’s crazy. The world’s getting crazier and meaner, and they’re louder. I’m like, ‘Is it because they’re getting louder, or is it because I’m getting worse?’ What’s happening?”

Trainor, who is celebrating the release of her new single “Still Don’t Care,” said that she’s “taking care of my health to the highest level” following the birth of her sons Riley, 4, and Barry, 2 — whom she shares with husband Daryl Sabara.

“I’ve never felt better, and I look incredible, and I feel great,” she explained. “And that’s when people attack me. I was like, ‘What?’”

Trainor has been open about the use of weight-loss drug Mounjaro, and she told ET that “learning how to eat healthy is a science.”

After Trainor recently shared a photo of herself at the 2025 Baby2Baby Gala on Instagram, she still faced some harsh criticism in the comments section.

“I am not joking I had no idea who that was,” one person wrote, while another said: “[She] is not about that bass anymore.”

Another commented, “Please eat, this looks unhealthy.”

In an interview with the Associated Press, Trainor said her new song is actually inspired by the haters.

“I was seeing a lot of hate all over the world, but I was getting a lot of hate when I started posting more pictures of … my fitness journey and my health journey. And I didn’t really expect that,” she said. “I would get really upset at comments and I was like, ‘I wish I didn’t feel like this. I wish I didn’t give them so much power.’”
