Suicide Drama Exposed! Terrifying Ways Rosie O'Donnell Is Making Her Estranged Wife's Life 'A Nightmare'

On Sept. 22, Michelle went over the edge with wine and painkillers in a Nanuet, N.Y., hotel room and then reportedly reached out to Rosie in tears to tell her what she'd done. Police were called, and Michelle was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors were able to save her life. Rosie has been making Michelle's life "a nightmare," says a source.

And sadly, Michelle isn't the only member of Rosie O'Donnell's family in a miserable situation: Daughter Chelsea is also headed down the road toward deeper trouble, but Rosie, 53, "is more concerned with herself and her relationship with Tatum to care," a source close to the former couple tells Star.

Rosie and Michelle, who split in February, are battling for custody of their 2-year-old adopted daughter, Dakota. Though Michelle seemed to be dealing well enough, friends believe photos of Rosie and Tatum enjoying each other's company four days earlier at Rosie's new $5 million mansion in West Palm Beach, Fla., drove the 43-year-old to her desperate decision.

Although sources close to Michelle insist that she merely had a reaction to her medication, "Michelle has been battling serious depression, and these past few months have been brutal on her," the insider tells Star. "Rosie is vindictive and she will stop at nothing to make your life hell. Michelle has been on the receiving end of that."

Part of Rosie's ire stems from Michelle claiming in divorce documents that Rosie "drinks a bottle of wine nearly every night [and] regularly smokes week." And the source says, "Rosie was livid with Michelle for betraying her secrets." And now things are only bound to get worse for Michelle.

"Rosie believes that Michelle 'pulled a stunt' to get public sympathy," says the insider. "Now Rosie will paint her as unstable to get full custody," adds the insider.

Michelle's shocking act comes at a time when Rosie is already embroiled in drama: In August, daughter Chelsea vanished—yet Rosie waited days before appealing to the public for help in finding the girl. Now the 18-year-old has moved in with the family of Steven Sheerer—the man she had run away to see—who has prior arrests for heroin dealing and child endangerment.

Chelsea was spotted with him in Bargnegat Township, N.J., on Sept. 16; the home where they reside is reportedly the site of lots of drinking.

"It's sad, but Rosie has checked out of the issues surround Chelsea, including her dangerous romance," says the source close to Rosie. "She spends all her time with Tatum." Yet those who know Rosie don't have high hopes for their future.

Tatum's ex-husband [tennis great John McEnroe] was a well-known hothead, and so is Rosie," says the insider. "Plus, Rosie likes to drink—bad news for Tatum, who is supposed to be clean and sober."
