Chemical experts analyzed the powder, which at first was believed to be the poisonous chemical anthrax, and found that it was harmless, phew! "The substance was tested and confirmed as non suspicious," a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

But this isn't the only mysterious letter the royals have received. The horrifying incident came a day before police revealed that a similar package containing white powder had been sent to the Houses of Parliament, addressed to Home Secretary
Amber Rudd. That substance was also found to be harmless.

Counter-terror police are still investigating both suspicious packages. "Officers are also investigating an allegation of malicious communications which relates to the same package. No arrests; enquiries continue," the spokesperson continued.
