Patrick Dempsey's Downward Spiral, On Top of His Elimination on Grey's Anatomy

Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes doesn't put up with diva behavior on set, according to an interview last October with the Hollywood Reporter. All that to say, when Patrick Dempsey started stirring drama during filming and with Rhimes, she "suspended" him. A show source tells Star that there is "little tolerance on the show for troublesome talent--and the finality of Patrick's exit seems to bear that out."

But Patrick Dempsey's rep says his diva antics wasn't the reason he was eliminated from the show, but other members say his temper made the set uncomfortable at times. One guest star says Patrick would "storm off to his trailer" at times, which resulted with a producer of the show apologizing to other cast members for Patrick's behavior.

"I'm still processing it," Patrick Dempsey admitted about his role being removed. His exit on the show might be one of the last things on his mind since 2015 has already been a pretty rough start for the 49-year-old actor.

Earlier this year in January, Jillian Fink handed Patrick Dempsey divorce papers after being married for 15 years. Sources say Jillian wasn't happy for years, "but she put on a brave face for the sake of their children." Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink, 49, have a daughter, Talula, and twin sons, Darby and Sullivan.

"They had issues for years, a lot of them caused by Patrick's massive ego," claims the insider to Star.
