"'I'm so fancy... You already know,'" she wrote. "My Nonny gave me two of her fur coats! I definitely know where I got my love for DIAMONDS, FUR and WHISKEY! #familytradition#grandmastreasures#besthandmedownever#wandathewanderer #bringitwinter"
But while Miranda may have found the coats fancy, furious was one of the f-words that activists had in mind after catching a glimpse of her pics.
"How disgusting of you," one person posted. "I was a fan until you've shown that you condone animal cruelty. Educate yourself."
"Gross," another fan wrote. "As a public figure you should help humanity have a little consideration for animals and the earth itself .. Do you want to see what animals go thru to make that disgusting coat you have on? The pain ? Watch the damn videos and educate yourself ! Never following this individual or buying anything that has to do with her !"
Still, Miranda doubled down
, posting another photo with her grandmother and the coat's embroidered lining.
However, the sentimental nature of the coat did not change the minds of the activists. "Animals are skinned alive for fur you ignorant primitive ridiculous people," one wrote. "You are condoning the senseless abuse of animals for vanity! God have mercy on all your souls."
