Now, the federal judge overseeing the Fyre Festival bankruptcy case has ruled that Kendall’s company, as well as several top modeling agencies, can be subpoenaed in the hearing.

According to documents obtained by
Entertainment Tonight, the trustee overseeing the bankruptcy proceedings,
Gregory Messer, asked the court to subpoena 24 parties, including IMG Models, DNA Model Management, Kendall Jenner INC and United Talent Agency, to find out their involvement in the event.

Specifically, they want to know how the models and agencies were paid by Billy McFarland to promote the festival.

Billy was arrested and charged with wire fraud in June 2017. In October 2018, he was sentenced to six years in prison. Prosecutors claimed he defrauded investors and funders of up to $26 million.

According to the documents obtained by ET, Kendall’s company was paid $275,000 for promoting the festival on Instagram. United Talent Agency was paid $90,000, DNA Model Management LLC was allegedly paid $299,000 and IMG Models was paid over $1.2 million. The court is also looking to subpoena other vendors for the festival.

The festival disaster was recently the subject of dueling documentaries from Hulu and Netflix, both of which talk about the role the models played in securing ticket sales.
