Dr. Oz, 58, asked John about his emergency room visit after the attack. “What did the doctor say? How did they react to your injury?” he asked.

“The doctor comes up to me and says, ‘Show me your wrist.’ And I said, ‘That's not where I'm cut.’” the 51-year-old recalled. “So, ‘Show me where you're cut.’ So I pulled on my pants, and blood is all over the place.”

“I was like pretty much suicidal at that point,” John said.

“I'm kind of mutilated in the most worst way a man can be mutilated and I was self-terminated, and I was looking for something that can end it with looking around,” he explained.

Lorena, now 48, claimed that she attacked John because he had raped her. John was found not guilty of marital rape, and Lorena was found not guilty due to insanity.

Dr. Oz asked John if he regretted his actions. He said, “The only thing I regret is not engaging in the relationship as much as she was engaged in it. I was young, I wasn't ready. We talked into me marrying her because she didn’t want to go back to her country. She basically asked me to marry her.”
