The 46-year-old newlywed said that perimenopause is already leaving its mark. “I can feel hormonal shifts happening, the moods, you’re all of a sudden furious for no reason,” she said. In a
blog post, she also explained that she’s sweatier than she used to be, and she’s changed her workouts.

The Shakespeare In Love actress said she thinks the “big change” needs rebranding. “I remember when my mother [Blythe Danner] went through menopause and it was such a big deal and I think there was grief around it for her and all these emotions,” she explained.

“I don’t think we have in society a great example of an aspirational menopausal woman,” Gwyneth observed. Is that what she wants to be?

But the sharing of the news about her health was mostly a way to sell goop’s newest product, a pack of supplements cheekily called “Madame Ovary” that costs $90 a month. They’re intended to help women before, during, and after menopause, to “ease the most common complaints of menopausal transition.”
