Michelle And Jim Bob Duggar Reportedly Adopting A Child — Are They Trying To Divert Attention From Their Family Drama?

According to a source at Life & Style magazine, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are in the market to add to their brood. “They’ve been mulling it over for a long time, and they feel the time is right to get legal advice and get the process underway," the insider said. "They’re looking to adopt a child in the New Year.”

The couple has had a hard time shaking the bad press and publicity following them since 27-year old Josh admitted to molesting five girls when he was a teenager, including two of his sisters.

Following the admission, the father of four confessed that he also cheated on his wife Anna, and was addicted to pornography. Soon after, adult film star Danica Dillon came forward to reveal the religious activist paid her for rough and violent sex.

Adopting a child may be just the cure to the flailing family's ails, because shortly following the debauchery revelations, TLC promptly cancelled their wildly successful reality series, 19 Kids And Counting.

The show was the Duggar family's main source of bread and butter, not to mention fame. According to the insider at Life & Style, “They’re a desperate family, who want to stay in the spotlight.”

Michelle, 49, will remain color-blind when it comes to adopting a new baby, per the source. “Michelle says she doesn’t care if they adopt a boy or a girl, or what ethnicity the child is. She says she just wants to help a child’s life.”
