Paul Harrison, believed he was fired for defending a female employee.

Paul Harrison, believed he was fired for defending a female employee.
The papers claim that on September 10, 2012, a female employee Vanessa Joseph-Pauline reported to Paul that she was being "discriminated against on the basis of sex."

“Ms. Joseph-Pauline stated to Harrison that, among other things, she was being treated in a disparate manner in comparison to male employees,” the documents state. “Ms. Joseph-Pauline was disciplined by Defendant Mahdessian for certain behavior that was tolerated by defendants and permissible when such behavior was engaged in by male employees.”

“Ms. Joseph-Pauline stated to Harrison that, among other things, she was being treated in a disparate manner in comparison to male employees,” the documents state. “Ms. Joseph-Pauline was disciplined by Defendant Mahdessian for certain behavior that was tolerated by defendants and permissible when such behavior was engaged in by male employees.”
“Madame Paulette has had a history of receiving complaints regarding harassing, discriminatory, and other improper actions taken by Defendant Mahdessian against, among others, women,” according to the papers.

Paul claims that he brought the issue to John's attention — and he became "enraged." The RHONY star told Paul that he "could do whatever he wanted as he was the President of Madame Paulette," and Paul was fired on September 14 of that year.

His termination letter stated that he was fired for "abandonment of [his] employment duties" and "using its services and facilities for [his] own personal needs without authorization" — but Paul claims that his employment agreement entitled him to "cost-free dry cleaning services" that he used "during the many years of employment under the employment agreement."

Paul later applied for unemployment insurance benefits, and John “challenged Harrison’s entitlement to unemployment insurance before the New York State Department of Labor.”

Paul ultimately received the benefits and the case was settled outside of court in October 2014.
