But the the Washington D.C.-based lawyer didn’t stop there. In her statement, which was made to US Weekly, Pressley goes as far as accusing the DA’s office of using Bill’s celebrity status to help their own political agenda during the upcoming elections.

"The charge by the Montgomery County District Attorney's office came as no surprise," the statement read. "Filed 12 years after the alleged incident and coming on the heels of a hotly contested election for this county's DA during which this case was made the focal point. Make no mistake, we intend to mount a vigorous defense against this unjustified charge and we expect that Mr. Cosby will be exonerated by a court of law."

As Star previously reported, after years of continuous allegations, the comedian was officially charged with raping former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand.

The now 42-year-old victim, alleged that Bill drugged and raped her in 2004 during a visit to his mansion outside Philadelphia.
