Last night’s The Bachelor premiere was a bizarre milestone for the franchise. Leading man Colton Underwood is the show’s first virgin Bachelor, and it came up 18 times during the first episode! Colton, 26, said, “I’m the first virgin Bachelor and it’s crazy to even think about that.” And though he was nervous, he added, “I couldn’t be more hopeful and excited.”

The former football player wasn’t the only one who lacks experience. One of the contestants has never been kissed, and another explained that she’d only kissed four men before.

But Colton wasn’t afraid to lock lips with the contestants last night. First, he smooched Caelynn. “He kisses very well for a virgin,” she reported back. “I was shocked at how he just took the initiative and drew me in.”

Later, he kissed Katie after their conversation. “I never expected to get kissed on the first night, but it was really good,” she told the camera.

But neither Caelynn nor Katie got the first impression rose! Instead it went to an unkissed Hannah G.

Colton evened it out though, kissing Hannah after he gave her the flower. Fans will have to wait and see if Colton makes it past first base.
