Are Jennifer Garner & Ben Affleck Play-Acting A Happy Family—Or Is This The Real Deal Again?

After the Hollywood couple announced their decision to divorce on June 30, one day after their 10-year wedding anniversary, the pair could be taking a turn on the road to reconciliation.

After nanny Christine Ouzounian alleged relationship with Ben surfaced, Jen was left "humilated and deflated," according to OK!'s source, but she wasn't angry.

And now, in light of their plan to reconcile, Ben and Jen have joined forces to make her disappear. "They're contemplating paying her $500,000 to stay out of their lives," says a source.

"This whole mess has made Ben realize he doesn't want to lose his family," a source told OK!. The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star has recently been spotted quite often in Atlanta, spending tons of time with his kids while Jen works on her new film Miracles from Heaven.

"In Atlanta, Ben asked Jen if there was anything he could do to save the marriage. The trust isn't there for her right now, but she left the door open," an insider dishes to OK!.

"Jen couldn't believe that Ben could be so stupid as to get involved with the nanny," says an insider. "But she actually isn't angry. She's just humiliated for the family. She told him that since they were separated at the time, he could do what he wanted, but it was upsetting that he chose to spend his downtime with the nanny instead of with his kids, or making an effort with her."

Announcing their plans to divorce has surprisingly been the secret to smiling with each other again (plus, both are still wearing their wedding rings to this day). "They've been having to hide everything and play nice for what seems like an eternity. Now that it's all out in the open, they feel more comfortable in each other's company than they have in a long time," the tipster says.

Sources say it's not exactly a surprise that, given Ben's desperation, she's considering "hanging in there" all over again.

Even though early in their marriage, Ben seemed less invested in his family's harried demands than his wife, he could be turning a page on that note. "He's vowed to stop drinking and gambling and to be more present," says a source.

"Jen says she'll believe it when she sees it, but she's put the divorce on hold for now to give him one last chance. She's hoping they can repair their friendship and trust and that their marriage will follow. She says they love each other too much to give up just yet," dishes the insider.
