There is a lot people don’t know about the “simple” folk who star on the hit Discover Channel show, Alaskan Bush People, including that they may not even be from Alaska.

According to RadarOnline, the Brown family claims to be born and bred in the wilds of Alaska, but law enforcement has determined that was a LIE.

Papa Billy, and brothers Solomon "Bear", Joshua "Bam Bam", Gabriel, Matthew, and Noah were ALL issued citations for making false statements regarding their residency status on hunting and fishing licenses! Authorities maintained that the crew had actually been living in Colorado and Texas prior to 2012.

The family also lied to receive checks from the government! Billy and Bam Bam proposed a plea deal Nov. 19 admitting to unsworn false statements about their residency between 2009 and 2012.

However, the plea deal was rejected by the judge, who instead stated that they deserved 30 days in jail! The defendants' attorney even admitted their fakery before the court.

"This exposure here is not good. It can't help their show," he said in the hearing. "I don't know if you've ever seen their show, but it's about pioneering Alaskans, showing what it's like to live in rural Alaska, and this case would make it look like
they're not these pioneering Alaskans."

The family also made it seem as though they lived in isolation, which was not the case.

"The area is by no means wilderness," an insider reported.
