Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo spent nearly two years fighting over when to start a family, which nearly drove them to divorce. But the parents couldn't be happier as they announced on Sept. 22 their little girl had finally arrived!

Before the good news, sources told Star that the duo were on the verge of divorce because Adam, for all his talk about taking baby steps, couldn't quite put his money where his mouth was.

"When they got engaged, Adam promised Behati they would start trying right away, no questions were asked," detailed the insider. "But he kept dragging his heels about having kids and always came up with some excuse to postpone it."

Behati got more and more exasperated, and after months of bitter confrontations finally issued an ultimatum. "She put her foot down and threatened to see a divorce attorney. She said she wasn't waiting forever and if he didn't want a baby, she was out the door."

Her divorce threats finally drove Adam to get his head straight. By December, the couple were back on the baby track and, as Star reported, visiting fertility doctor in Los Angeles. Behati is more than willing to put her Victoria's Secret modeling career on hold. It's even been rumored that Adam and Behati might want Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani to be the baby's godparents.
