Paul Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon Channel JFK Jr., Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in New ‘American Love Story’ Photos

Paul Kelly channeled the late John F. Kennedy Jr. while filming American Love Story in Tribeca.

The series — also starring Sarah Pidgeon as Carolyn Bessette — follows the whirlwind romance between the political “It Couple,” who died in a tragic 1999 plane crash.

The project isn’t slated to premiere until Valentine’s Day 2026, but has already garnered strong reactions from JFK Jr.’s nephew Jack Schlossberg — who revealed in a video posted to his Instagram Stories that the Kennedy family had not been consulted about the show — and critics who took issue with Pidgeon as the fashion icon in first look photos.

“It’s very interesting that people become so inflammatory,” series creator Ryan Murphy to Variety in response.
