Model Asks NASA to Send Her to Mars Because Being Single There Has a ‘Better View’

The world is full of breathtaking places: the Amalfi Coast at sunset, cherry blossoms in Kyoto, the northern lights rippling over Iceland. Susann Alicia isn’t interested in any of that. She wants to watch Earth shrink in the rearview as she leaves it behind.

Known to more than 6 million followers across her platforms as LienSue, the German content creator has decided modern romance is a lost cause and she’d rather take her chances in orbit. “Dating here is hopeless, so I’ve decided to change my scenery,” she said in a statement. “Preferably to a place with fewer men and a much better view.”

That “place” is Mars. “You know the rhyme,” Sue joked. “Boys go to Jupiter to get more stupider, girls go to Mars. I’ve dated enough of the Jupiter crowd. It’s time to see what the Red Planet has to offer.”

There is, unfortunately, one major flaw in the plan: Mars isn’t exactly accepting visitors.

No person has ever set foot on the fourth rock from the Sun, and NASA says it’s still developing the technology needed to send astronauts there as early as the 2030s. For now, its human population remains zero, which Sue seems to consider less of a warning sign and more of a selling point. “A planet with no exes, no situationships and no one asking me to ‘come chill’ sounds peaceful,” she said. “The commute’s long, but so is healing.”

While Sue may have to put her Mars dream on ice, the Moon is at least back in the conversation.

In April, NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch joined Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen on Artemis II, a nearly 10-day trip around the Moon that marked the first crewed lunar journey in more than 50 years.

Their flight brought one of history’s most exclusive travel clubs to 28 people. Twenty-four Apollo astronauts traveled to the Moon between 1968 and 1972, and only 12 ever walked on its surface.

A few celebrities have made it to space, too. Katy Perry, Gayle King, Lauren Sánchez, William Shatner and former NFL star Michael Strahan have all taken short Blue Origin flights, though none got anywhere near the Moon, let alone Mars.

Sue, who has turned handmade anime cosplay into a seven-figure career, isn’t looking for a quick photo op at the edge of space. “Katy Perry got 11 minutes and a nice photo,” she joked. “I’m looking for a one-way ticket and a very long silence.”

NASA is targeting its next crewed Moon landing for early 2028, but those seats are reserved for career astronauts — not models with extremely persuasive breakup lore. Still, the influencer isn’t ruling out a future boarding pass. “I’ve waited this long for a decent man,” she said. “At least rockets come with a launch date.”
