Meghan Markle‘s As Ever products seem to have sold out as soon as they hit the website last year, but these days, Netflix employees can help themselves right at the office, Page Six reported on Monday, February 2.
“Apparently, there are two storage rooms packed with As ever product,” a source told the outlet. “They’re literally just giving it away to employees — one [staffer] walked out with 10 products for free.”
A second source backed up the claims by saying there was “so much overstock.”
However, sources close to the brand insisted to Page Six that the remaining products at streamer’s LA headquarters are intended for gifting, sampling and promotional use. The bulk of As Ever inventory was moved to an off-site warehouse some time ago.
MEGA
Last month, the lifestyle brand faced claims that the business was struggling after a website glitch allegedly revealed massive amounts of unsold inventory — totaling around 650,000 items.
At the time, the site reportedly listed more than 220,000 jars of jam, approximately 32,000 jars of honey, nearly 90,000 candles, about 80,000 tins of flower sprinkles and roughly 79,200 bottles of wine available for purchase, according to users Reddit, via the Daily Mail.
But a source told People that the numbers just prove the business is thriving. “It doesn’t take a genius to work out that what is left points to a company doing extremely well,” the source said. “That large stock order was obviously part of the international expansion plans the Duchess has spoken about for the brand.”
Netflix
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, partnered with Netflix to launch the lifestyle line, which was designed to coincide with her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, which featured prominent promotion of the products.
However, as previously reported by Star, sources say the show is not expected to return for a third season amid soft ratings.
