Meghan Markle is beyond excited about her first-ever Daytime Emmy nomination, a source tells Star.
Her short-lived Netflix show With Love, Meghan is up for Outstanding Lifestyle Series alongside A Different Breed, George to the Rescue, The Motherhood and The Wizard of Paws.
“She sees it as proof that the show struck a chord with the people that matter,” says the source. “She was crushed when the show got cancelled, so this naturally has her feeling pretty vindicated. She also feels the ratings were unfairly judged and nowhere near as bad as some people made out.”
However, not everyone is happy for the Duchess of Sussex, 44.
In the Friday, July 17 edition of Rob Shuter‘s Naughty But Nice Substack, insiders revealed that Meghan’s Daytime Emmy nod had much of Hollywood rolling its eyes.
“The backlash is already in full swing and it’s pretty brutal,” adds Star‘s source. “For a lot of people whose shows didn’t get nominated, it seems pretty bizarre that a cancelled show would even be in the running.”

They have their theories, though.
“There are a lot of people convinced she somehow wheedled her way to the nomination, whether that’s fair or not,” spills the source. “Emmy campaigning can be catty and competitive at the best of times, but with so many people questioning whether she even deserved the nod, it’s especially vicious.”
In the lead-up to the awards ceremony, which will take place on Friday, October 30 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, Meghan, 44, is “bracing herself for plenty more sniping,” admits the source. “But she’s not going to get drawn into the noise.”
