Lindsey Vonn is finally back in Utah — but says the road ahead won’t be easy.
“Home sweet home. Feels good to sleep in my own bed,” the Olympic skiing legend, who underwent multiple surgeries following the devastating leg fracture she suffered during last month’s Winter Olympics crash in Italy, revealed on Instagram on Sunday, March 1.
“Wheeling through the front door without Leo greeting me like always was a very hard reality,” she added, referencing her beloved dog, who died in early February while she was hospitalized.
“A reality I had to face. Along with many other hard realities that lay in front of me as I move forward…”
In the photos accompanying her post, she cuddled with her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Chance, who was adopted in August 2025.
“It’s going to be a hard and painful journey but I am putting all of my energy into it, like I always do,” she continued, revealing that she plans to take time for herself and will update fans when she can.

The champion skier entered the Olympics already competing on a torn ACL suffered just over a week earlier.
She then endured a terrifying downhill crash on on Sunday, February 8 that resulted in a complex leg fracture. Vonn spent nearly two weeks hospitalized in Milan and previously revealed her injury was so severe that doctors feared her leg might need to be amputated.
