Lifetime announced “The Judd Family: Truth Be Told,” a four-hour documentary event, is set to premiere on Mother’s Day weekend.

The documentary will provide an intimate look at one of country musics most iconic families, exploring the complicated relationships, triumphs, and struggles that shaped the Judds’ legacy.

Directed by Alexandra Dean (“Secrets of Playboy,” “This is Paris,” “Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story”), the film delves into the complex mother-daughter bond between Naomi Judd and her daughters, Wynonna and Ashley, revealing the family dynamics that both united and divided them.

The documentary features exclusive interviews with Wynonna and Ashley Judd, Naomis widower Larry Strickland, and longtime friends Reba McEntire and Don Potter. It also includes never-before-seen home videos, rare photos, and unreleased songs, as well as voicemails exchanged between the Judd women, offering a deeply personal glimpse into their lives.

“‘The Judd Family: Truth Be Told’ reveals untold truths about Naomis journey — from her early years as a teenage mother in Kentucky to her rise to fame as one-half of the legendary country duo, The Judds,” the network said in a statement. The documentary examines the impact of generational trauma, the challenges of fame, and the enduring strength of family bonds.

Produced by Propagate Content, the films executive producers include Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Isabel San Vargas, Jonathan Schaerf, Alexandra Dean, Elaine Frontain Bryant, and Brad Abramson. A+E Global Media holds worldwide distribution rights.

“The Judd Family: Truth Be Told” will air exclusively on Lifetime, May 10 and 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
