Kylie Kelce Reveals Taylor Swift Has a ‘Big’ Influence on Her Daughters Who Are Begging for Kittens
Taylor Swift has settled into the Kelce family with ease since she and her now-husband Travis Kelce started dating, and her new sister-in-law Kylie Kelce has been firmly in her corner from the start. Now it turns out Swift’s influence has spread to the next generation, too — and Kylie, 34, is hoping it’ll be enough to finally sway her husband, Jason Kelce, into bringing some pets into their home.
Kylie opened up about her cat-free household on the Thursday, August 20, episode of her Not Gonna Lie podcast. “I grew up in a cat-dog house. Both at all times,” the mom of four — who shares daughters Wyatt, 6, Ellie, 5, Bennett, 3, and 16-month-old Finn with Jason, 38 — explained. “And now our kids have influences in their life — Aunt Taylor is a big one — where they get to be around cats.”
“And then we go home and there are no cats, and they’re like, ‘But we want cats.’ … I’m like, ‘Jason, I need you to lock in here,” Kylie continued. “There is cat need in this house.'”
It’s no secret that Swift, 36, is a devoted cat mom herself. She currently shares her life with three: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button, all who have appeared on her social media over the years.
Kylie and the former Philadelphia Eagles player, meanwhile, are already a two-dog family with an Irish Wolfhound and a German Shepherd puppy.
Jason hasn’t made his resistance to having felines in his home a secret, either. During an episode of New Heights, the podcast he cohosts with Travis, he admitted to telling his daughters that cats are “poisonous” in an effort to keep one out of the house. When Travis, 36, pushed back, pointing out that Jason himself grew up with a cat, Jason said he simply doesn’t want a cat around.
“I’ve gotta get these kids on my side, otherwise I’m in a sinking ship,” Jason told him.
For now, it looks like Jason is holding the line. But with four little girls, a persistent wife and a very persuasive Swift, the odds may not be in his favor for long.
