Kim Kardashian is showing forgiveness during her Paris robbery trial.

On Tuesday, May 13, the 44-year-old reality TV star took the stand in a Paris courtroom to testify over the 2016 armed robbery. She faced those who were allegedly involved in the attack, including Aomar Ait Khedache, who sent her a letter in 2017 apologizing for his actions, according to the BBC.

Judge David De Pas read the letter in court, and the businesswoman reportedly got emotional as she listened.

“Madame, after seeing you in a French TV show and seeing your emotion and realising what psychological harm I did to you, that I decided to write to you. Not with the aim of getting forgiveness… I want to tell you human to human how I regret my actions and how I was touched to see you cry… I am sorry for the pain I caused you, your husband, your children and those who love you,” Khedache, 69, wrote. “Of course you can’t undo the past but I hope this letter will help you forget the trauma you endured because of me.”

Per the BBC, Kardashian told Khedache she does forgive him, but that doesn’t change the trauma that has resulted from the harrowing incident.

“I am obviously emotional about it – this experience changed my life, my family’s life,” the billionaire admitted. “Back home in the States I work in the justice system and I want so badly to be a lawyer and I fight for people to seek justice.”

The SKIMS founder continued, “I do appreciate the letter for sure, I forgive you. But it doesn’t change the feelings and the trauma and the fact that my life was forever changed, but I do appreciate the letter, thank you.”

Afterward, Khedache wrote a note responding to Kardashian’s words of forgiveness, which the judge read aloud to her.

“Your forgiveness is a sunshine that has enlightened me … I am forever grateful,” Khedache penned.

In October 2016, while in Paris for Fashion Week, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum was tied up, held at gunpoint, and robbed of millions of dollars worth of jewelry — including her $4 million diamond ring — while in her hotel room.
