Keke Palmer has a few rules and regulations when it comes to relationships.
During the Monday, February 2, broadcast of Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, cohosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones invited the 32-year-old actress to talk about “hot-take dating,” a new trend that sees singles getting touchy topics out of the way on first dates.
“I think that’s actually good,” the Emmy Award winner said, explaining that stances on things like babies and politics are wise to get “out of the way” before investing time in one another.
When Hager, 44, asked Palmer about some of her deal-breakers, she revealed, “One thing I need you to know is that I never want to live together. I like my alone time.”
When the Today hosts asked Palmer if she was being serious, she replied, “That’s real,” adding that the rule would even apply if she got married.

The mother of one, who shares a son with ex-boyfriend Darius Jackson, is not currently linked to anyone publicly following their tumultuous split.
“I feel like Whoopi Goldberg said it best once: ‘I don’t want nobody in my house,’” said Palmer. “And I just feel that.”
“Around the corner would be great,” Palmer said, adding that she would allow a partner in a guest house or, if absolutely necessary, a separate room in a shared home.
“We can be on the same land, but I’m over there, and he’s over there,” Palmer said. “Think about how fun it would be to be like, ‘I’m going to my man’s house… over there. Hi, husband!’ It keeps things fun and exciting.”
“I want to go sit on his couch,” Palmer concluded.
