Kate Gosselin Is Dating Her Former Bodyguard Steve Neild — Years After Denying Rampant Rumors

Kate Gosselin is officially dating her former bodyguard Steve Neild — despite denying the two were an item more than a decade ago.

“They have wedding plans, it’s that serious,” a source told Page Six in a story published on Wednesday, September 24, adding that Kate, 50, and Neild are living together and that the Jon & Kate Plus 8 alum is “crazy about him.”

The outlet also reported the two have been together for a long time now.

Rumors of the pair having more than just a working relationship have swirled for more than a decade. Neild served as security for the Gosselin family in 2008 — a year before Kate’s marriage to Jon Gosselin fell to pieces amid reports of Jon’s infidelity.  (Jon and Kate were married from 1999 to 2009, welcoming twins Madelyn and Cara, both 24, and sextuplets Aaden, Collin, Joel, Hannah, Alexis and Leah, all now 21.)

Whispers of a romance between Kate and Nield, who was married while providing security detail for the Gosselins, began to swirl shortly after.

At the time, Kate vehemently denied any romantic involvement with her security detail. “The scary thing for me is [the tabloids] are going to take information and create a story,” she told People.

Neild quit doing security work for the family in 2019 — the same year he and Kate were spotted sharing an umbrella in New York City, reigniting the relationship rumors.

News of Kate’s romance comes one day after the reality star took to TikTok to announce that she is “actually, finally” dating again and is “super happy” with her new partner.

Kate went on to say that she has been in a relationship for “a little over a year, maybe 14 or 15 months” but refused to identify her mystery man.

“He doesn’t really like to be on TikToks,” she told fans, before teasing, “You perhaps will catch a peep of him here and there once in a while going forward.”
