Jojo Siwa insists she and her “Celebrity Big Brother U.K.” housemate Chris Hughes are no more than platonic friends despite seeming to get very close on the reality TV series.

Siwa, 21, and Hughes, 32, appeared for their first joint interview since the “Big Brother” finale on the U.K. Show “This Morning” on Monday, to talk about their friendship. Their time on the series led the “Dance Moms” star to realize she’s not a lesbian after all, and at the “Big Brother” wrap party, she broke up with partner Kath Ebbs.

“Hes a gorgeous boy … Look, hes a great guy. It is platonic, we have a lot of fun together,” Siwa said in the interview Monday. “Life is life, and I dont know any future of anything. But, Im really grateful for our dynamic that we have in our bond that we have, and whatever life does, life will do.”

Hughes described their friendship as a “soulmate friendship.”

“Its not like the standard friendship that you have with your friends, but its, you know, its still a friendship,” the “Love Island” alum said. “Having someone in there to go through an experience like that … when youre emotional, when youre down, when youre happy, that was beautiful.”

The pair sparked rumors of a romance for their flirty dynamic on the reality series, even being seen cuddling in bed together.

Their bond got off to a strong start when Hughes defended Siwa from castmate Mickey Rourke, 72, who was ultimately kicked off the show for what producers called “unacceptable behavior,” including homophobic remarks toward Siwa.

“If I stay longer than four days, you wont be gay anymore,” Rourke told Siwa. He also told Hughes he was “going to vote the lesbian out real quick.”

“No, you cant do that, Mickey,” Hughes said. When Rourke referred to Siwa as a slur, Hughes admonished him, saying, “You cant say that.”

Later in the series, Siwa admitted the experience made her realize she’s not a lesbian.

I think being here, Ive realized, Oh no, Im not a lesbian, Im queer,’” Siwa said. “I think thats really cool. Im switching letters!” she said, referring to the LGBTQIA+ acronym for members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual community.
