Jessie J has been diagnosed with early breast cancer.

On Tuesday, June 3, the “Price Tag” singer, 37, shared a candid Instagram Reel revealing her diagnosis and opened up about the experience. Jessie (real name: Jessica Cornish) explained that she would be undergoing surgery in June, following her performance at the Summertime Ball in London.

Jessie said she was diagnosed before dropping her song “No Secrets” in April and is trying to stay positive.

“I’m highlighting the word ‘early.’ Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding onto the word ‘early’,” she remarked. “I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period.”

Jessie explained that she wanted to be open about her situation for two reasons: First, because she doesn’t “talk about it enough,” and second, to help others.

“I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard,” she confessed. “I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people, giving me their love and support, and also their own stories. I’m an open book. It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse.”

The English hitmaker managed to inject some humor into the situation, joking about the irony of this happening just before she puts out a song called “Living My Best Life.”

“I’m getting to keep my nipples, so that’s good. It’s a weird topic and a weird situation,” she shared, before quipping: “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job.”

“I will come back with massive tits,” she added, “and more music.”

Stars came out in droves to show their support. Rita Ora commented, “You’re literally my favourite person and I’m praying for you you’ve got this. My mother had it and I know the surgery and any treatment on this matter is mentally tough so I’m here for you. X,” while Leigh-Anne Pinnock wrote: “Sending you so much love.”

Michelle Visage also chimed in, writing, “Sending you so much love and healing energy.”

While Jessie explained that she would “disappear for a bit” after her surgery, she has nine shows lined up in October throughout the UK and Europe as part of The No Secrets Tour.
