Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson and Naomi Watts Navigate Reunions with Exes at Their Kids’ Graduations

When the 44-year-old and husband of 17 years, Cash Warren, 46, split in January, the mom of three was looking forward, saying on social media, “It’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution.”

So with their divorce pending, getting the family unit back together for 13-year-old middle child Haven’s 8th grade graduation June 6 was a delicate situation.

“They’ll always be a family, and she’s trying hard to stay on good terms with Cash, though there’s a lot to figure out financially,” an insider tells Star (the pair reportedly had no prenup).

“It does hurt that the kids are having to live through it.”

The singer and reality TV vet has been having a year of yes after her January split from husband Eric Johnson, 45, returning to her first love, music, and holing up in Tennessee to record Nashville Canyon, Pt. 1.

The album includes songs about infidelity, and the 44-year-old has been open about her heartache, telling one crowd that she’d “asked some very personal questions on the home front, and I found out that my world had been turned upside down.”

Seeing Eric at daughter Maxwell’s middle school graduation June 4 was “bittersweet” for the mom of three, says an insider. “Sometimes Jessica finds it hard to be nice to Eric’s face when she still harbors a lot of resentment towards him.”

So close, they even share photos! Nearly 10 years after she and Liev Schreiber broke up, the 56-year-old and her ex, 57, are the model of a blended family.

On June 5, the Friend actress chatted with Liev’s wife, Taylor Neisen, while the proud pop walked alongside Naomi’s husband, Billy Crudup, as the group headed into NYC’s Central Park for 17-year-old son Sasha’s high school graduation (the exes also share Kai, 16; Liev has a 20-month-old with Taylor).

“They’re all very chill and genuinely enjoy each other’s company,” says the insider, adding that the two worked hard to keep things more than civil. “A lot of other ex couples ask them for advice about how to stay on such good terms.”
