Something’s gotta give. Jennifer Garner and her boyfriend, John Miller, are bound for couples counseling as Jen’s too-close-for comfort friendship with ex-husband Ben Affleck is causing a rift, says an insider. “Therapy may be the only way they can really resolve this issue.”

Following the Oscar winner’s split from Jennifer Lopez last year, he and Jen, parents to Violet, 19, Finn, 16, and Samuel, 13, have grown noticeably closer — even sharing a sexy embrace at Samuel’s birthday party in early March. “John has been so patient with the whole situation,” says the source. “But a lot of people think Jen’s too accommodating toward Ben. It’s starting to grate on John, and he’s insisting she set clearer boundaries.”

It doesn’t help that after Jen Garner and Ben’s split in 2015 — which followed reports of his gambling and alcohol addictions, plus a rumored affair with their children’s nanny — Jen, 52, continued to have a soft spot for her ex, 52. She’s even lamented, “He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that?”

She’s repeatedly supported him since their divorce, driving him to rehab in 2018 and, more recently, spending the holidays with him and their kids following his split from J.Lo.

“It’s like she has some sort of blind spot for Ben,” says the insider. “He’s always Jen’s priority. But for Jen and John, it’s feeling like this is a make-or-break moment.”
